red TANGENT was founded in 2002 as an alternative to traditional marketing. Over the last 6 years we’ve reinvented how to market entertainment and lifestyle brands online. This has translated to many successful engagements with leading brands like: Sony Music, TV Guide, Fox Television, Ubi Soft, Kraft Foods, the UFC, and FX Networks. Recently red TANGENT has partnered with the PROMO 100 advertising agency, GWP, Inc. based out of Montclair, NJ. Having worked on a project basis with GWP for almost 5 years, the partnership of red TANGENT and GWP gives us an opportunity to do real integrated marketing with a proven offline marketing partner and provides GWP access to a top digital studio. This partnership also gives red TANGENT an East Coast presence to better serve its clients, in addition to its locations in Tempe AZ and Newport Beach CA.

Founders Bio

Gerard LaFond – President and Founder red TANGENT

Mr. LaFond founded red TANGENT in 2002 as an alternative to traditional marketing methods and strategies. Creating a new approach to Interactive marketing, red TANGENT quickly became a sought after Interactive agency for entertainment and lifestyle brands such as: Sony Music, TV Guide, Fox Television, Ubi Soft, Kraft Foods, the UFC, and FX Networks.

Additionally, Mr. LaFond co-founded Persuasive Games in 2003 to produce videogames that make you think. In a few short years, Persuasive Games has produced over 30 games for political campaigns, social causes, corporate training and most recently a series of games based on current events featured monthly on the NYTimes.com. Persuasive Games’s forthcoming game “Fatworld” in partnership with PBS, will be released in early 2008. Persuasive Games has produced award winning work for: Cisco Systems, Domino’s Pizza, Cold Stone Creamery, CNN, the New York Times, Shockwave, Best Buy, and many others.

Prior to red TANGENT and Persuasive Games, Mr. LaFond was VP of Marketing and Business Development for the award winning interactive agency Media Revolution and was formerly the General Manager of Citysearch.com. Mr. LaFond is a sought after speaker on the subject of serious videogames, marketing, and interactive entertainment. He has been featured numerous times on NPR, and guest lectured at both UCLA and USC. Mr. LaFond holds an undergraduate degree in Philosophy from the University of California, Riverside and a graduate degree in Management from Azusa Pacific University.
